Arabica Coffee
Arabica Coffee grows wild in the last remaining mountain forest of Ethiopia's Kaffa province, the original home of Coffee Arabica but this natural treasure is increasingly threatened by deforestation. This is where Wild Coffee Project comes in: by collecting and selling wild coffee, more than 6,000 small-scale farmers generate a sustainable income through the reasonable use of the rainforest, thereby improving the living condition of their families in the long term.
Thanks to natural growing conditions and a low yield per bush, itself dedicated by nature, the aroma is concentrated in the coffee beans. An aroma that no cultivated coffee tree can achieve! Over millennia, nature has developed more than 5,000 varieties of the wild coffee plant, ideally adapted to the soil structure, microclimate, and altitude. Thus, even neighboring forest regions can produce coffees with strikingly different characteristics: some have a fruity taste, others are bitter, and still others are light and floral.
